Wood Jewelry Holders | Lun Made

The founder, Amie Lun, is a serial DIY crafter. In 2015 she decided to take her obsession to the next level and develop her own brand – which has a unique, effortless style that we’re just swooning over.

Amie tells us more about how hoarding is not always necessarily a bad thing, the lessons she’s learned since her launch, and her favorite spots around town.

Soy Candles | Lun Made

What’s Lun Made all about?
Lun Made is a thoughtful collection of handmade minimalist housewares and accessories. Each piece is designed, crafted and painted by yours truly. The products range from wood serving utensils to cork coasters to soy candles to mini wood bowls and ring cones – all available in various colors and designs, bringing style and functionality to any space.

What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always considered myself a “maker”. Whether upcycling wine bottles/old t-shirts, crafting Halloween costumes or making handmade gifts for friends and family – DIY is in my blood. Because of this, I may have become a bit of a hoarder (oops). You never know when you’re going to need that button, ribbon or jar. I knew I needed to make something productive out of it and it had always been a dream of mine to build something to call my own as a creative outlet. Enter: Lun Made. I took the huge leap of faith… and never looked back.

A Happy Home | Lun Made

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
Set realistic goals for yourself and the customer. Don’t kill yourself and over-promise on tight turnaround times to try to make the sale – more often than not the customer is extremely understanding. And don’t be afraid to put yourself out there to the world. You will be surprised at all of the overwhelming positive support you will receive – I know I was. You just have to make the leap and figure things out and make changes/tweaks along the way.

Any exciting plans for the next few months?
I have plans to test/build out new product ideas and expand my collection. Potentially looking at more wood crafts, some knitting and graphic design projects, so stay tuned! Also, my collection is now available for international shipping, so I am excited for what this new chapter/adventure will bring.
