About

My name is Teresa Lagerman. I write this blog.

Me and Marco with Veronique, the lovely Vietnamese pig from Araux

Brooklyn Makers was born out of my passion for local talent. For years I have found myself playing local-goods-and-services matchmaker with friends and clients at mimoYmima, the web design studio I run with my husband. As a small business owner myself, I know that when you shop local, you’re not just getting a cool gift or a gourmet treat, you’re making it possible for entrepreneurs to produce the quality work they love to do.

A little trivia about me:

I am originally from Spain.

I’m a December baby.

My favorite all-time band is Travis.

I have lived in Windsor Terrace since 2005.

I did live in Manhattan for a year, but I’m not doing that again.

I drink a lot of ginger ale. Check out Morris Kitchen’s Ginger Syrup, it’s bananas.

When I was 17, I lost 9 pounds in 1 week while traveling in China.

I have two boys, two years apart.

I have a small collection of newspaper-boy hats.

I read a lot, but I do not want a kindle. I like bookstores too much.

I only curse in Spanish.

I hope you will find some stuff you like here. And that you will tell your friends. And they’ll tell their friends, and we’ll all support our awesome local businesses, giving them the opportunity to continue to amaze us.
